Hordes Of Wrath – Interview February 2020.

A few days ago I spoke with Necro Tyrant, the creative force behind the Black metal music of Hordes Of Wrath.

Welcome to Metal Health Necro, and thanks for being here. Congratulations on your new E.P. Satanic Abominations. It must feel good to have created a recording from scratch, then finally finish and release it to the world.

What does good mental health mean to you?

Being focused on not going crazy for me is already a big step, I do not consider that there is a meaning in life beyond what we give it, this is not pleasant to face, I do not believe that there is mental health but a concept of collective madness where a group considers itself normal

How is life for you off the road or when you’re not gigging? Especially after a tour or big event, is it difficult to adjust back into life at home after time on the road? If so, how do you adjust/cope?

I played in several bands I didn’t get to do an extensive tour but I certainly know that today the road is not for me. And I intend to keep it that way. The more time goes by the less interest I have in getting involved with people, Hordes of wrath is a one-man army. And i intend to keep it that way.

What motivates you? What keeps you going?

The fact that there is a kind of connection in music, especially in the instrumental aspect, so I am pleased to know that someone in another part of the world appreciates the sound that I have developed.

Are you a positive thinker? What keeps you positive?

I don’t believe in negative or positive thoughts, I stay focused and realistic, I try to consider probabilities and stick to logic.

Have you experienced any tough times personally that you’d be okay talking about? If so, how are you/did you get through this?

What is difficult for some is certainly not for others, I lost people I loved from an early age, it hardened me but strengthened me and mainly taught me that nature is unforgiving, the end comes for everyone and the way we deal with finitude of our existence and the people we love define those who are able to do something useful or just exist until it becomes food for worms.

My art, whether music or graphic art keeps me focused on perpetuating ideas and feelings even with varying interpretations

What does making music mean to you? Why do you do it?

Perhaps the most addictive drug is creation, transposing a melody or drawing beyond the borders of my mind is something very rewarding, I can’t live without it any longer. In part they are feelings struggling to come out in the form of melody or drawings.

When did you  start making music? Was it like finding some buried treasure that you didn’t know you had, and how did making music fit in with the rest of your life?

A treasure would be a good definition, music became a lifestyle in my adolescence when I started playing when I was 18 and today at 39 it is part of what motivates me to be alive.

How important is it for the bass guitar and drums to be tight, and where do you see guitar and voice fitting in the groove?

I consider that just as in a living being all parts must work in perfect harmony in a song, everything must fit perfectly for a satisfactory result.

How was the recording process for your last record? Did you bang it down live, or record an instrument at a time etc?

I am the only member, so I compose all the instruments as well as I do all the drum programming mixing recordings in my improvised home studio But it works perfectly for me as well as for my work proposal.

So what are your plans?  Some more touring or any dates you can mention?

I still have many compositions, I intend to continue recording and launching on digital platforms, if any label or label is interested in producing better physical material, otherwise my interest is in producing the sound that I like to hear.

Any other projects musical or otherwise happening?

I work with illustrations and just as music is as ungrateful as it is pleasant, they do not pay my bills but I am happy to do it.

Ok, last question! What would you say to fans who are struggling with their mental health, or doing it tough at the moment?

I once heard that evil comes from within ourselves and we are the ones who make it real so we are the only ones who can fight this evil.

Love your down to earth insights. Thanks  for taking the time to talk with us and best wishes for the future.

I am very honored by the opportunity until the next one, keep the metal flame burning!
